Q.For the extended cyclic setting for NETC02-CC, 2×, 4×, or 8× can be selected. What is the difference?

A.

The higher the multiplier for extended cyclic settings, the greater the number of data that can be handled and the number of connections that can be increased.
Also, the link scan time for CC-Link communication is shorter when the multiplier is lower and longer when the multiplier is higher.

The number of data that can be handled and the maximum number of connected units vary depending on the command method (instruction selection method or fixed instruction method) as follows.

In the command selection method

Extended Cyclic Settings Number of Remote Registers Number of data which
can be rewritten at a time
Maximum Number of Connected Units
2 times 32 words 8 Pieces 8 units
4 times 64 words 16 Pieces 16 units
8 times 128 words 32 Pieces 16 units

[Selection Guidelines]

  • If you have a small number of connected units, a small amount of data to be rewritten, and a small number of monitors, please choose 2x.
  • If you have a large number of connected units, a significant amount of data to be rewritten, and a large number of monitors, please choose 4x or 8x.

In the command fixation method

Extended Cyclic Settings Number of Remote Registers Remote register placement
(number of words per axis)
Maximum Number of Connected Units
2 times 32 words 4 words 8 units
8 words 4 units
16 words 2 units
4 times 64 words 4 words 16 units
8 words 8 units
16 words 4 units
8 times 128 words 4 words 16 units
8 words 16 units
16 words 8 units

[Selection Guidelines]

  • If the number of connected units and the remote register arrangement are small, select 2×.
  • If the number of connected units and the remote register arrangement are large, select 4× or 8×.

The specific arrangement of the remote registers can be found in the technical support tool "NETC02-CC address calculator."
